Make Things Happen – Solstice 2022 Astrologically

Forget New Year’s resolutions (you may already have) But if you want to turbo charge your life and make things happen, try the Summer Solstice. Let’s face it winter time can be one of the most difficult times of the year to forge new beginnings, make life-changing decisions, break bad habits or create new ones. Here in the UK at least, people tend to feel a bit gloomier when the days are shorter, the nights draw in earlier and dreary cold weather descends. We tend to eat more, sleep more, stay indoors more and generally feel less energised. Meanwhile, Midsummer and the Summer Solstice (considered by some as a time of magic) is a whole different kettle of fish. The Summer Solstice 2022 is an opportunity to balance both masculine and feminine energy. In many traditions, the sun is considered masculine energy while the earth is considered feminine. During the summer solstice, the two come together to create a powerful union. Sounds good to me. Summer Solstice 2022 Astrologically, the Summer Solstice is an excellent time to turbo-charge your life, the perfect time to manifest your dreams and create lifestyle changes that stick (unlike dry January or Stoptober) Technically, the Summer Solstice is the moment the Earth is tilted as close to the sun as it will be any other time of the year. It marks the beginning of summer but it also brings several tangible health benefits, including better sleep, better mood, a more positive mindset, and a boost to our energy levels both physically and emotionally. The extra sunlight enhances our circadian rhythm, the internal biological clock that aligns itself to light and dark. During winter we often wake when it's still dark, but in the summer the light wakes us more naturally. The Summer Solstice is an opportunity to create balance in your life, you could look at it as a spiritual health check or checkpoint halfway through the year, to see where you are, where you’ve been so far and where you’re headed. For the first time in my life (well since I was nursing my babies anyway) I intend to rise on June 21st at 4.30 am to see the Summer Solstice 2022 at precisely 4.43 am, light a candle, set my intention for the rest of the year and meditate. After which, I will either go back to my lovely bed to dream a few more dreams, or I might choose to start my day and see where it takes me. Wishing everyone a happy Summer Solstice!
